What you did instead: Bought a different book
Comments: $20.76 for Kindle edition, $17.73 for brand new Hardcover, that is obscene for an eBook that I am unable to give or lend when I’ve finished reading it. The Publishers obviously set pricing on eBooks, are the trying to price then off the market??

What you did instead: Watched a movie
Comments: The Kindle edition is priced higher than the hardback edition, which is frankly ridiculous. Have waited years for the release of one of my favourite authors new work but ten pounds for an ebook is not even worth considering when so much brilliant content is available on the same site for free and for less than a fiver.

Comments: Every cloud has a silver lining. By avoiding greedy agency publishers I have considerably expanded my range of authors to include some I might never have tried. Who needs Michael Connelly when there are thousands of good authors who don’t have Luddite publishers?

Comments: £6.99 for an ebook, and I could buy the hardback for £6.20 or used for £4.95. No thanks, too many fairly-priced books available. Another publisher to go on my black list, well done Orion.

Comments: Not available at release despite being hyped because of idiotic dispute with retailers re: agency pricing. Same retailers of course won’t sell to us at all.
Entertainingly, the UK ebook retailers by refusing to sell outside the country would appear to have doomed themselves to a smaller and smaller slice of their pie only as competition grows – and Amazon is one of these, of course.
