Comments: Not even worth attempting to follow this author any more and have now crossed this author off my buying and reading list and deleted her website from my bookmarks. Given up trying to buy eBooks from authors and publishers who don’t want my money. It is really disappointing not to be able to support her and buy her latest release in the format that I want to read it in. It is ridiculous in this day and age that geographical restrictions apply. No eBook available for me to purchase on release date, no sale. There are plenty of other authors out there that publish books where geographical restrictions do not apply and I have found many of new-to-me authors to replace the ever increasing number of authors that I can now no longer buy and support.

Comments: Six months after the $7.99 release of this book in paperback, the ebook still costs $12.99. While in theory I understand publishers trying to level the playing field so that one ebook retailer doesn’t have complete control of the market, the Agency publishers have gone much too far with their pricing. I rarely buy anything at full price – I wait for coupons/sales/discounts/etc to purchase everything from groceries to shampoo to CDs… and print books are no different. But now publishers expect me to pay the same price (or more) for a digital product versus the print product. No deals or coupons are provided (except on rare occasions – and they’re usually not on the ebooks I want anyway). I now think of Agency ebooks as luxury items, which I can’t afford with my income.

Comments: Not everyone runs Windows or OSX. Those of us who don’t cannot use DRM protected books as there is no software to push the books to our mobiles. Publishers need to understand that when they restrict items, it punishes readers and treats us like criminals. It also cuts into their sales. I’m not going to run Windows on my laptop so some publisher can lock up their product in DRM.
